As we all know, ordinary hiking boots do have their limit­ations. In such cases, an alternative needs to be found. Finally, the partially crampon-compatible deep tread Vibram outsole with CLIMBING ZONE in the toe box allows via ferrata, rock and ice routes to be conquered with ease.

• Vibram: Vibram® has been one of the leading brands of high-quality soles for many years.
• Resoleable: Lowa boots sold in the Mountaineering and Trekking categories are designed in a way during the development phase that they can be resoled. The upper of the shoe is retained, and a new sole is added to it. This process will extend the shoe’s service life and make a strong contribution to sustainability.
• Stiff: As a result of its construction, the footwear exhibits a strong resistance to bending.
• 2 Zone Lacing: Thanks to the two zone lacing system, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the footwear can be individually adjusted to the foot’s anatomy.
• X-Lacing: Optimum positioning of the tongue, without any slippage or pressure points: This is what X-LACING® technology is all about. This special lacing system secures the tongue both vertically and horizontally. As a result, the lacing system gains independence from the height of the instep, making it perfect for any type of foot. This technology ensures that the pressure of the laces is transferred not just to the hooks but to the tongue as well.
• I-Lock: Just pull tight and lock in place: To simplify the job of tying footwear, Lowa has developed a special type of fastening hook. Special feature: the system holds the laces in place in two different zones. Once the laces have been pulled tight in the lower area, they can be locked in place with the help of the fastening hook. Simply pressing the hook fastener upwards releases the locking action and the instep laces can be loosened.
• Roller Eyelets: To ensure that the laces run flexibly and smoothly through the eyelets, small roller balls minimise friction in the metal loops.
• C4-Tongue: The specially designed footwear tongue substantially enhances comfort. The tongue includes extra padding for the outer portion of the foot, and the upper end of it is especially soft. This asymmetric padding provides optimum support to many areas of the foot. To take into account the foot’s natural anatomy, the recesses for the ankle area have also been placed higher on the inside than on the outside, and a flexible bending insert has been integrated into the inner side by the foot.
• Lowa Flex: To add flexibility to each eyelet, the lacing systems through which laces are threaded are affixed separately. These sections are made of soft leather trim or textile materials that prevent pressure points. Thanks to the flexible arrangement of the eyelets, the laces can individually be adjusted without producing too much pressure on specific areas. Yet the tongue maintains its optimum positioning.
• Flexfit: Feet can roll more effectively if the upper of a hiking boot can be easily bent. Such a feature saves energy when the wearer climbs hills and it provides real comfort in the process. For this reason, Lowa has integrated a flexible zone and a “lace loop” into the instep area. This involves repositioning the boot’s eyelets and using a flexible lace hook that improves heel comfort and facilitates bending.
• Climbing Zone: The flat component in the front sole area facilitates easy climbs.
• Semi-Auto Crampon: “Semi-automatic crampons” are crampons for Mountaineering and approach boots which have a rear welt but no front welt.
