The Fällkniven F1X Elmax Survival Knife is the full-tang variant of the F1 equipped with Thermorun handle plates. The F1 has been the official survival knife for pilots within the Swedish Air Force since 1995. The F1x combines the experience of generations of knife designers with modern technology to create a top-performing knife, a knife you can rely on when a demanding situation arises. The blade is made of Elmax powder steel, powder steel is very difficult to work with and requires advanced technology combined with experienced knife makers. The advantage of this steel lies in its excellent strength and cutting edge retention. The blade is finished with an anthracite coating, this reduces glare during use. The handle plates are made of Thermorun a durable synthetic polymer. Not only does this make the knife surprisingly light, but the co-moulded texture gives the handle plates a fantastic grip in all weather conditions. The Zytel sheath has a two-way locking system that holds the knife securely in the sheath, locking it 100% securely in place.
